What is an image window?
How do I dither the image?
Dithering causes an image to be displayed more slowly but with truer
seeming colors than may be available on your monitor. Using the Image
panel of the Settings Window, click Render Best Quality, then
checkmark the Use Dithering control.
-
You may not see a difference if the image depth is less than or
equal to your monitor depth.
How do I enlarge an image that is displayed too small?
Using the Magnification menu, choose Double Perimeter or press
[ 2]. If
the image window was presented at <50%> or <x0.5> because of its
large dimensions, choose Normal from the Magnification menu or
press [ 1]
to restore it's original dimensions.
-
Scroll bars will never be associated with an image window. They distract
from an uncluttered presentation of the image. Use the arrow keys, [PAGE
UP], [PAGE DOWN], [HOME], and [END] to scroll the image if it is larger
than the window. Use the shift arrow keys for small movements. Reposition
the image by dragging it with the "grabby" hand. Also, option-dragging
scrolls the image away from the direction of the drag.
Example:
-
Render Best Speed is selected so the image is not dithered.
-
<200%> indicates the image is shown at twice normal dimensions.
-
indicates the image
is larger than the window and is only partially shown.
How do I interrupt image rendering?
Large, complex images can take a significant amount of time to display
on slower systems. You can sometimes interrupt drawing with [ESCAPE] or
[ .]. A beep
will sound.
